Declarations — Turkey
Turkey has been a party to the Hague Apostille Convention since 1985, so a UK apostille alone is sufficient for documents used in Turkey. No further embassy or consular legalisation is required.
Declarations for use in Turkey
Statutory declarations, affidavits and similar documents must be signed before an authorised legal professional before an apostille can be obtained for use in Turkey. The wording should be checked against the requirements of the authority in Turkey receiving the declaration, as these often specify particular phrasing or supporting identification.

Turkey accepts the UK apostille directly, so consular legalisation is not normally required. The Consulate General deals with notarial and consular matters for Turkish nationals.

- Apostille legalisation through the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO)
- Return of the legalised document, ready for use in Turkey
Fees
Note: These fees would be in addition to the fees Embassies and Consulates charge for processing and legalising documents. Every Embassy has their own fee structure depending on whether documents are commercial or personal. The exact costs can be confirmed if required.
As Turkey accepts the apostille directly, there is no need for Turkish consular legalisation — which keeps the process quicker and lower cost.
