Arranging an LPA for yourself or a parent in Richmond
Many enquiries come from adult children helping a parent put an LPA in place. The LPA must be made by your parent, and they need to have the mental capacity to make it. A home visit lets me speak with them directly, in familiar surroundings, and confirm they understand the document before they sign.
When family members live further away
Attorneys do not have to live locally. Where family members are elsewhere in the UK or abroad, the consultation and parts of the process can take place by video, so everyone can take part without travelling to Richmond.
Fees
My fixed fee is £180 for one LPA or £300 for both types for one person, with no VAT. The Office of the Public Guardian charges a separate £92 registration fee per LPA.
